If there’s at least one item every vinyl record enthusiast should own, it’s the GOODGROOVES Carbon Fibre Anti-Static Record Brush. Use it everytime you play your vinyl records for simple and easy maintenance and improved playback.

For vinyl records requiring a deeper clean from ingrained dirt and greasy fingerprints, it is recommended to use the GOODGROOVES VINYLIVE Vinyl Record Cleaner products.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

Place your vinyl record on your turntable without the stylus in position and start the platter in motion. Place the Carbon Fibre Anti-Static Brush bristles down directly across the inner record area, following the direction of the grooves. While angling the brush slightly forward and not pushing down hard, gently move the brush towards the edge of the record and slowly back towards the centre again. Now move the brush over the centre label so that the bristles make contact with the platter metal spindle. This contact releases any static charge that the brush has acquired. Now pull the brush towards yourself and off the edge of the record. Any larger particles that were collected by the brush fibres will fall off the edge. To clean built-up dust and dirt from the bristles of the brush, do not use your fingers. While holding the end plastic edges of the brush handle in your thumb and finger of one hand, use your other hand to hold the metal area and flip this section back and forth against the raised inner plastic ridge of the handle.

TOP TIP

Use the Carbon Fibre Anti-Static brush again after playback to remove any dust and dirt that the stylus may have shifted from within the grooves. This will also help remove any new static build-up that may have occurred before storing your record back in its sleeve. Static still on the record could cause “suction” and scuffing while being placed in or out of the sleeve. It is recommended to use plastic anti-static inner sleeves to further reduce and protect your vinyl records during storage.
