A theatrical opening at a train station (Train Intro), sets the tone dramatically which appropriately gives way to the ol’ foot stomping Gospel sounds (I’ll Never Fall in Love). The album journeys through the aching themes of loss and heartache, explores the ecstasy of life while lighting a dim candle to the redemption of love. It thoroughly parades a variety of MaxX & Love’s musical repertoire and influences, from raunchy 12-bar Blues (I Wanna Talk To You Baby) smothered with MaxX’s slithery slide guitar, to more African inspired, melancholic melodies (Death Of A Moment), hauntingly carried by Love’s ominous vocals. There is a blatant showcase of how all that inspires them bleeds into one another as they unapologetically open up the book of their lives to put this body of musical expression together, hoping that; These Blues Might Get You Too.
